First the Jeep AW-4 was never made to mount to a V-8 so there might be and adapter plate you could buy. The WJ's with V-8s came with a 45RFE and that controller is totally different then a AW-4 controller the RFE trans is stronger then a AW-4 and is actually a 5 spd auto, the later 5-45RFE is a 6 spd.
I guess these days anything can fit, but why would you wanna use that combo, I'm assuming the 99 WJ(Grand Cherokee) has a 4.7L
