I just lifted my 97 ram 1500 put some 35 sx on it. About 30 to 40 mph it will shake the living day lights out of you. I have swaped tires no help moved my camber around checked tie rods, torque rod and bracket. new stablelizer. any ideas I am going to replace the tie rods anyway tommorow and see if can aleast drive it to work and align the front end and then see what happens.:driver:

Did you do an alignment? Aren't the front on that model set up like the Cherokees? If so control arm angles combined with alignment will cause a lot of problems. Were the tires new or used? May want to try rotating them. In Cherokees and Tj's it's called death wobble. Stabilizers are band aids for death wobble. Hope this helps.

napa had to order my tie rod so it will be tomorrow night before I can get all the new rods on.Then I will align it at work the next day if I can get it to not wobble so bad. THe tires was off of my 85 yota they arent new but they did wear good and even. First coil sup and so far it sucks I love leaf springs.

I would try rotating the tires and see if that helps. I would then do an alighment. My guess is as you went up your toe went in and that is causing the shakes. Tires may not look worn but can actually cause bad shakes. Did you try the old tires and see if they did it?

It's a 97, soooooo how many mile are on it? You may need new bushings on those control arms. Did the kit replace ANY of the control arms with better(stronger, flexier bushings etc) ones?

I had that problem on my 2003 ram 2500. I installed a lift then removed it and it would still happen but only at speeds of 60+ after I hit a series of bumps. Replaced the tires and haven't had any more problems. If you have a different set of tires try those. I tried everything else first becouse my tires still had good tread. But I've had these new tires for 2 months and no more death wobble.

I put the old stockers on the front and drove it and it started at 40 but I went on and it stop no were as bad as the 35.I guess I will take it to work tomorrow and align it.

You have to get an alignment, your going to get it till you do, no matter what you do, you lifted it pretty high your toe is going to be way out. Also toe it slightly out but still in the green. Last, check your track bar, ive replaced plenty on dodges and jeeps where they mount to the frame. Have someone rock the steering wheel, crawl up under there and make sure there isnt any play

align it no better. I still have the tie rod at the pitmanarm and the outer at the driverside wheel that I havent replaced. my camber was out on the left front so I guess I will replace the wheel bearning alittle slopy.

I hate to push you to another website, but www.pavementsucks.com is about 75% dedicated to Dodge trucks and there are a bunch of about the Death Wobble (some even with videos of it).

Track bar is the most common problem along with alignment, tire balance, and work bushings. I would throw away the track bar and buy one from either DT Profab or Thuren (loook them up on pavementsucks).

The Dodge is a decent design for a street vehicle, but with a couple of mods can be a beast. I run 42s on mine and I wouldn't trade for a Heep or Yota if you threw a tow rig in with it!

yeah haw 400 bucks later its fixed. I put dual stablizers on it with the stock location one and it has alittle bit still but I can live with it.thanks for the help yall.
