97 Jeep Cherokee Window Problem

Friday, my drivers side window went a little crazy. I could get it to catch sometimes but most of the time, the motor would work but the window did nothing. I took the door skin off and messed with it but it seems the window will roll down to a certain point then stop but the motor will continue to work. I can usually get it to come back up with a little assistance and it won't fall down. What's the deal?

Google Cherokee Window fix. There's a plastic gear thing in the regulator that goes bad. A guy makes (or used to make) a replacement so you don't have to replace the entire regulator.

That's the one my brother used on his. Not particularly mechanically inclined, and he said it was an easy fix.
