My 97 s10 blazer is making a humming noise from the drive line from about 15mph up to 60mph. It gets the loudest at 55mph then it starts dropping back. I checked the front 4 wheel drive acturator the cable was froze so I thought that was the problem so I disconnected it and it is still making the noise. I also checked the transfer case and it was good. Just wondering if anyone would have a suggestion on what it might be or what i could check.

thanks
kyle

Does this happen in two wheel drive and or four wheel drive ? if it only hums in 2wd, it might be rear axle issue. It's hard to say without bein there, but it could also be a front hub bearing.

it dose it in 4wd and in 2wd it dont sound like a wheel hub or the rear axle.

Should have bought a Cherokee. Sorry, had to say it.

Anyway, noise doesn't sound like it's coming from the rearend. Hard to pin-point it while driving, but it definitely sounds like it's from the transfer case forward.
