97 t100 good truck?

The 3400 engine is reliable as long as the timing belt is changed at the correct interval. 155k in the motor is nothing to worry about and it depends on how much money we're talking about here.

Those trucks are starting to get rare. 7k is not unusual for a good condition t100. My neighbor has one with a salvage title for sale for 5k with a 5.5" lift. I would buy it if somebody bought my tundra.

Good Motor..... Older suspension design.

I always thought of them as:
t100 = giant toyota mini truck w/ beter v6
Tundra = Giant Tacoma w/ v8

The front suspension is torsion bars simular to 86-95 4Runners and trucks. Toyota switched to double a arm and coilovers after the t100. which is used in Tundras, Tacomas and 4Runners after 96. Think the rear end has a taco 3rd which is stronger than the regular toy 8". T.C. makes a long travel for all independent yotas. Just keep an eye on the idler arm in the steering for wear. It is like an extra steering box with bushings instead of gears so the bushing wear out. Easy and cheep fix but prone to wear out after a few years....no biggy. Newer Toys have steering racks which are ok but kinda weak and expensive. The front diff is toyota 7.5" like newer but easier to work on (has front cover unlike the clamshell newer design)

I had a 96. I loved it. Plenty of power on 33's. Pretty good on gas. Just dont let your girlfriend run it into a tree, the truck didnt like that.
