97' zj 5.2 start and shut off problem

ok so i had a friend of mine give me a 97 zj 5.2 auto 4x4. when he gave it to me he had paid some idiot to put a new motor in it. the guy chopped up the harness to make it fit the parts on the older motor or something. i believe the motor is out of a 94ish jeep or truck cause it matched with my 94 zj. now on to the problem it only cranks while its wide open throttle runs for 2 sec and shuts off. I bought a wrecked running jeep to fix it and after changing the computer, harness, interior fuse box, and some other boxes that were under the dash and no change. wot cranks runs for 2 sec and shuts off. ive checked fuel pressure, fire, checked injectors. its giving me a huge headache. really wanna fix it cause its really nice and clean. any ideas let me know.

Check the Idle air control.

sounds like it has VATS in the computer (vehicle anti theft system)

all the parts i put on it were off of a running rolled over jeep. i drove it before i started swapping parts. everything on the intake has been swapped.

sounds like not enough voltage or to fuel injection or bad or non compat comp.

factory computer and computer out of the rolled jeep are the same. the jeep does the same thing no matter which computer is in it. new battery and big battery charger hooked to it with no change. 14.5 volts to the computer.

I thought on this a little more, If it is only starting at wide open throttle then you probably have a sensor issue somewhere. I had a jeep one time that had a map sensor issue that would only start at wot

every sensor on the motor came off of the running jeep. i managed to get my hands on a book from the dealership. read a little farther on the ASD and it does run injectors, coil driver and fuel pump. im not losing fire but with the injector plugged into a diode im getting erratic injector pulses. anyone know where the asd module is located?
