ive got a 97 zj with the 5.2. Now that URE is closed for the winter its time to do some work on it. Im wanting to go bigger and just happen to have a set of tons laying around. What is the best/easiest way to go passager side drop to run a chevy 60. thanks guys

Sell the Chevy 60, get a Ford 60, save yourself a ton of work that way. Trust me on this one...Doable? Yep, I've done it a few times when the PSD 60 was too cheap to pass up. Regretted it each time.

Or, just run a D300 and enjoy trackbar, exhaust, driveshaft, oil pan clearance issues...

Not worth it Jody already said why.

I did a Dana 300 swap in an XJ with a Chevy 44 front a few years back. If you're dead set on using a PSD front axle, you're gonna have to do a little extra fab work to make it happen. Had I not already had the 300 and Chevy 44 laying around I probably would have kept the stock case and ran a HP 44. You'll need a clocking ring which can set you back anywhere from $100-$150, figure out the shifter configuration, cut a massive hole in the floorboard under the passenger seat, build a 3 link with the upper on the driver side, etc. My biggest issue was getting a front driveshaft to work. Since the 300 is so stubby, getting it to handle the extreme angle going to the LP front axle was a challenge. Other than that, it wasn't really that bad. I've currently got a TJ build going where I'm using a Chevy 60 front and 205 case. It's really not that hard if you like a challenge.

It'll be a head turner, that's about it.
