Alright. My driver side turn signal is messing up. When I have my lights off it works fine, blinks as normal. But when I turn my lights on and use my left turn signal, it blinks fast. Almost like its telling me I have a burnt bulb. I have checked all my lights front and back and none are burnt out. Where should I start looking to chase this problem down? Of coarse it doesn't affect my driving, it's just starting to get annoying!

Do your hazard lights work OK?

I have had to replace the flasher in my jeep twice, so that could be a start.

Check grounds

let me know what you find-my 96 does the same thing only both directions-i have a buddy with a 96 that does exactly the same as mine does

IDK, I havnt checked my hazard light. Will look at them when I get off of work. I think I need to buy you a beer.

As soon as I figure it out, I will let you know.

Dodges are bad about this, but the problem is in the bulb socket. The socket doesn't make a good connection with the bulb and warms up when the running lights are on. Then you hit the indicator, and there's enough resistance (probably on the ground connection) that the bulb won't light... or shows a high enough resistance that the computer thinks the bulb is burned out and trips the "check bulbs" warning in the dash.

i had this exact same problem with my 1998 zj a month ago. worked fine with lights off but drivers side turn signal flashed fast with lights on.

it turned out to be my driver's front bulb located under the headlight. they are double filament (seems stupid) but replacing the burnt bulb fixed my issue.

try this first before going any farther.

edit: it annoyed the hell out of me too!
