so...leaving brown mountain the other night...the CEL pops on. I get out on BM Beech Road and the jeep is acting funny....it revs up to around 3500-4k before it'll really start moving good...but not really slipping.

I limp it back to my gf's and pull the codes:
P0122
P0123
P0700
P1685

So i erase the codes to see if they come back...and the first 3 did.

so now instead of the "slipping," when it's cold it'll get to a certain rpm and just loose all power even with the gas held...and then kinda go BAM and take off again.

It also dies when i come to a stop after it's warmed up...

so fast forward to today, i'm hauling 2 buddies and a LOT of guns to our private range....and the jeep starts bellowing smoke, a LOT of it. I pull over and we all get out to investigate...nothings really out of place it seems and none of the gauges read anything funny. I crawl under the jeep and there's tranny fluid leaking onto the exhaust pipe and that's whats smoking. I check the tranny fluid and there seems to be way too much (idling in neutral)

We let it sit for a few then get back driving...no smoke, until i let off the gas then there's a HUGE cloud. Well we just drive to the range and I take my anger out by shooting a LOT of steel...poor steel never saw it coming.

When we leave...there's no smoke.....i gotta check the fluid again tomorrow...

so...........yeah, any of this related?
anyone know how to alleviate the codes?

i've googled my fingers off and every post has a different cause/remedy...so I'll just start my own thread and ask ya'll

this is a 98 xj, AW4
