Ok EFI guys, this one's for you.
I've got a 99 5.7 vortec, 110xxx miles. It is swapped into my 4-runner. I am using a reflashed 99 PCM and a new painless fuel injection harness, and all new ignition parts. Cylinder #8 is not firing. I can pull the plug wire off and hear and see the arc jumping to the plug. I think it isn't getting fuel. Here's the catch, the exhaust smells like raw fuel may be passing by #8 and not getting burned. The smell is opinion by committee of you know what I mean. The headers/exhaust tube is all new as well. The PCM registers P0308 - #8 misfire. How can I test for fuel delivery or test the injector? Ideas? Everything else about the engine swap was flawless.
The engine ran fine in the tahoe.
Thanks for the help.
