Id bet on it....thats a 250k life cycle engine and I dont see many of them make that.

Plan on a motor SOON... 180-190k i see them eatting cams all the time in the local dealership. My v10 has 168k and is getting ready for a cummins swap

Thanks alll, think I'll let this one go and keep looking.

What about the 5.4's? aren't they basically the same engine design? A friend (used to work at a local dealership) has been helping me keep the spark plugs in mine, and he says they are usually good for 300k, as long as you keep the oil changed. Mine is due for a change and I plan on making the switch to mobil one extended guard 5w20.

Don't know why but I have seen 3 of the v10's eat the cams after a while. 300k on any gas motor these days seems like alot. If I was buying a truck wiith that many miles I would budget in funds for a rebuild/replacement. I have been shoping for a 6.0 because you can pick on up cheaper than a 7.3, but it has to be about $5,000 way better deal so I can do the necessary fixes and still be in budget.....just my .02. Plan for the worse hope for the best. As a tool dealer I see alot of "I got a steal on this bc of milage" and they sit because they don't have money to fix there truck.

true. personally i wouldnt plan on a 300k motor lasting, not even a honda. with that said, I bought a steal in my F-250. 03 model, 2wd, 5.4, ~70k, two-broke rods, one piston sideways in block, one hole in block. $750 plus gas in the tow-truck to get it home. :D
