'99 Grande Cherokee lights

Taillights work as intended until you hit the brakes, then the left side goes completely out.
Is this common? and if so what is the answer?

Have you replaced the bulb(s)?
 
replace the whole assembly or if you can find replacement sockets that works. common problem sockets are hard to find ill try to find out where i got them. assembly's are a little pricey.
