I have a 99 wrangler TJ with just a few minor problems. Before i started tearing it apart i wanted to see if anyone else has had the same issues and easy fixes.

First, the wipers just stopped working one day in the snow. The went really slow at first then stopped completely. About a week later they worked again but didn't have as much power. Now they don't move at all. I don't know if its the switch or wiper motor. I have checked the fuses and they seem to be alright.

If it's the wiper motor whats the best way of getting to it?

Secondly, the jeep has an AC compressor but it doesn't seem to engage. Neither the heat or Ac get hot or cold, they just blow outside temp. The blower motor seems to be fine and it works on all settings. I thought maybe just the AC needed charged but the heat doesn't work.

Would the AC compressor effect the heat if it wasn't engaging?

Any info would be greatly appreciated. If i didn't give enough info about something please ask.

Thanks a lot, Mike.

http://www.jeep4x4center.com/air-conditioning-heating/wrangler-tj.htm - this is the TJ HVAC exploded view.

As far as the heating issue, sounds like the door in the HVAC unit is stuck closed and only allowing outside air to come in. Some junk could of fallen down there and blocked it. Could be a vacuum issue but i think it would stuck on defrost, not 100% of TJ's vacuum system for there might be some one-way valves to separate those 2 systems. My money is on the door being stuck

As far as the settings such as defrost/regular/feet they all work when you put it to that setting. You actually reminded me, someone else said it could be the vent/door being stuck. Now how do i access this door, i can't seem to figure it out from the diagram. Thanks a bunch for the help. I hope to solve the issue this weekend.

I'm in kernersville and could take a look at it for ya. I have had the dash out of mine to put a heater core in. But you have to remove the dash to get to the hvac box that has the doors. You can pop the long plastic piece up that is right at the windshield and then take the center trim out thats around the control head and radio and pop the control head out and see if anything maybe just unplugged or something easy.

Alright, I'm headed back to clemmons this weekend from boone. Ill try to get in there but if I'm having trouble would you mind if i PMed you?

Thanks a bunch, Mike
