Thanks to everyone who trys to help

Set aside a full day incase you run into problems, rear shocks and leaf spring bolts are the worst, strip the nut inside the framerail (unibody) for the leaf spring and thatll be an adventure. The shocks are the same way, seem to always break off on the frame side. Otherwise, pretty straight forward.

Without cutting, 33's if you plan to wheel, 35's if you dont lol.

If you step up to 35's gears are pretty much a must. Most xj's that I have driven or seen seem to handle 33's "okay" on stock gears.

If you don't like seeing $$ signs you are in the wrong sport lol

Gears set up at a reputable company without lockers will run around 900 bucks. The lift isnt hard to put on, its the problems you run into along the way.

I'm just down the road from you in Lexington if you need someone to do any of the work for you. If you are thinking about going more than the 4.5" and/or 33's you can start spending money quick on long arms, gears, etc.

I'm currently in the same boat as you. 6.5" lift on stock 3.55 gears and 33's. It drives fine but I would like a bump in power, probably meaning 4.56 gears. In this pic, I rubbed at full lock up front when going over bumps, but not bad at all.

I PB blasted all bolts a week in advance and that seemed to help with leaf springs. Still broke some rear shock mount bolts though. If you can, go straight to a long arm lift, totally worth the money.

A 99 will likely have rear DS issues. Meaning you need to plan on a SYE too. Or at least a new DS. A 4.5" Lift will clear 32's the 6.5" will mostly clear 33's. IMHO both will need a regear!
