99 tj alternator upgrades

Its that time to upgrade my alternator and I don't want to spend a ton of money on a mean green alternator. I've hear about alternators from other vehicles that put out more amps that are easy to swap with a few mods. Anyone know what vehicles that can swap in my tj?

On my 02 TJ (should be the same alt as yours) I used one from a 00 or 01 durango. Its 160 amp. Bolted right in. It has an extra mounting arm that comes off it but it didnt get in the way of anything.

That's cool to know. I'll look into that. Right now I have a electric fan kit and if I'm winching and the fan kicks on it drains the optima yellow top fast. So my alternator is prob going down the drain anyway

Ive heard an 8 lug 44 will fix that
