99 xj strange knock

My wife has a 99 xj that has a strange knock that just started out of no where it knocks all the time except when in over drive I had one that knock because of a flex plate kind of wondering if that is what this is because the Jeep still runs great has 60 psi of oil pressure at idle

Cracked or egged holes in the flex plate are not uncommon. Usually when driving and under a load they will quiten up momentarly. Pull the inspection cover and look at things. Piston skirts are also a coming reason for a knock on 4.0s also

Yes on the flexplate being cracked. Been there, done that.

Mine did too. @Lee is spot on.
 
Think I found it at least I was the one driving it when it happened so does anyone have a good 4.0 they want to sell
