Started the jeep this morning and it ran for a few seconds and tranny started making a noise. almost like a high resonance fluid noise. Then it went away. Shifts & pulls fine no slipping problems going into gear. Has fresh fluid & a quart of lucas transmission stuff in it.

Should I be looking for a transmission?

Any idea what would cause it?

I've heard the same sound come from a lot of gm transmissions (4l60s, 700rs) I perceive it as being air in the system?? Its sort of a slurpey sound. As far as aw4s go, when I did a d300 swap in my blue one years ago and cut a lot of floorboard out. Heard it all the way up til I broke it in half driving back from RBD '11 but always drove fine.

This is really baffling me, I am usually good at diagnosis of sounds. Never made a noise in the 6k miles I have driven it.

I often wonder if it a faulty torque converter.

Is there a way to test it?

No iclue.

Not the tranny,. A/C. Compressor is raising hell and fooled me. Damn...jumped the gun on that one.
