Im trying to track down why the temp. setting on the dash doesnt work in my 99 xj. it stays on hot. wasnt bad this past winter when I traded for it. starting to suck now.
while digging around under the glove box I found a plug unhooked. cant find where it goes. the wire come out from under the heater box. the plug has 3 wires. orange, yellow, black with a white stripe. i figure this could be the culprit. anyone know where this plugs in?

thanx, mine has a hanger holding it on the heater box looks like it should be going over to the tunnel. its fairly short not too many places for the other end to hide.

couldnt find any ORange wire in the FSM, so I looked at my '99, look what I found...
It plugs up in the rear corner of this component. In my crappy pic, you might be able to see the passenger side floor HVAC duct pointing right at it. Thats my hand on the tranny tunnel pulling down the carpet.

THANX.
I believe thats it. and explains why I couldnt find it. its mia. I can tell where that has been broken off the heater box. but atleast I can turn the door closed now. then figure out the fix.

hopefully there is enough material left to mount it when I find 1. I would rather not replace the whole heater box.
