a 4.0 question?

my buddy has a 2000 cherokee with a bad 4.0. he found a 97 grand cherokee with a good 4.0. he was wondering if that motor would work since the ignitions are different an i dont really know what else is different. any info would be appreciated. thanks

The block and head should be the same. If he swaps all his stuff over from his motor he should be able to make it work.

thats what i was thinkin too. i didnt know if there was anything major that was different though
