Been awhile since ive been on here hate i havent been around.
well I recently have taken on a long overdue meaningful project and figured id share.
Well the project is an 87 mighty max that has sat for many many years, it was my brothers and he passed away at a young age and feel the time is right for me to restore not only old great memories but a chance to create new ones with me and my soon to be wife. We are planning for kids within a few years and really want to share it with them and have it stay in the family for a long time to come, but need to start and finish before little ones take all the income.
The catch.
I am planning the overall goal of the truck to look and somewhat perform like a rally/corr truck but keep it functional. Of course i have a small budget but am very eager to learn as i go. I have done frame chanels c-notches and 4 links on 2 mini trucks before so i have some knowledge but this truck is just plan ran down and not planning to lower it. Rust isnt a big issue thank the lord. I am going 4g63 just not sure when. Got alot of work to do before motors options come into play. I want this thing looking like it came right out of a drakkar race. i would use the term Trophy truck, but those are wayyy out of my league lol.
-Week One progress.
Pulling it out of the hole it sat in for 11 years! :0
Getting it towed from parents house to mine.
After pressure washing all that awesome carolina clay out from every hard to get spot.
The tear down begins
Stock motor is still good so will use it while building 4g63 swap.
I keep getting sidetracked and really want to start working on the roll cage and corr truck style bed cage but dont even know where to begin. plus have alot more cleaning and then suspension to work on.
O and anybody ever done a 5-6 in sus lift on a 2wd mighty max or d50? haha i am thinking custom lift isnt even the word for it.
well figured id share and ill update more as next weekend ill have some more time to work on it.
thanks!
Goal but on street legal and smaller budget terms.
