04 silverado 2500HD 6.0L gas 99,000 miles.... running down the road at almost any speed (in town or highway) everything is perfect. when i sit in traffic (doesnt happen everytime, probably 40% time) the A/C will start to blow warm and the engine temp will begin to creep up (never gets to overheating, just well above (prob 225-230 or so) operating temp (190-ish)

i had the A/C worked on last august and had a leaking hose fixed. worked fine until about early may.....

my gut is telling me it's an airflow issue, ?fan clutch? whats a good replacement?

any insight?

i've spun the fan by hand with the motor cold, op temp and when it's running "warm". same resistance all 3 times.... i've never once heard it lock-up (where it sounds like an airplane) even when hot.

I got my 01 2500 Suburban with a 6.0 to run cooler under load by cleaning the radiator. I took out the grille, flushed with water and air till I got all the bugs out. A while back I had an intermittent ac problem that turned out to be a bad low temp thermostat or sensor located behind the right front turn signal. It would cut out at high temps instead of low temps. It only cost about 20 bucks but drove me crazy tracking it down.

what was yours doing?

i feel its airflow related because nothing happens when at speed. if i'm sitting in traffic and the temp creeps up and ac stops, ill take off and it all starts to go back to normal.

i'm gonna throw a fan clutch in it this weekend and see what happens.

new severe duty fan clutch and all is good. idled in 100 degree weather for 20 minutes the other day after 2 hours of highway driving, never got above 190 degrees and a/c had to be turned down it was so cold.
