Got a friend with a 1999 TJ Sahara 4.0. The A/C clutch/bearing is howling when engaged and squeeling when not. Sounds like it's time for a replacement. Can the clutch be changed out without pulling (and evactuating) the A/C compressor? Her Haynes manual doesn't cover it.

repaired = yes on a TJ = dono depends on how much room you got, possibly just unbolt it with hoses still attached and swing it over.

Id see what brand/type it is. Maybe a Sanden and search online for how to repair it.. I swaped the pully/clautch over on my kick, but just did it by looking at it... So its not to hard.. Will need a small puller to pull the clutch part off..

You should be able to.

here is how to repair one on a Ferrari :)
Or how to repair a York, but same basic theory.
I can't imagine why you wouldn't be able to though.

Granted they show you pulling it all the way out of the car.
But I don't think that's needed, unless you are worried about scratching the jeep :)
