Sorry to repost this guys. My wifes zj I meann crapbox has decided to stop blowing cold air. I checked the charge and it was low so I added a can of coolant. Well the lines were cold as could11 be and it blew semi cold air but no where close to what it used to. This stopped the compressor from cutting off but not a good fix. Well its 110 outside and shes supposed to take the kidsly up to pa in like 2 weeks for her best friends wedding. I unfortunatly blew a good chunk of change last week due to an exploded release bearing and shot clutch and don't have the funds to put a boatload into an a/c guy. Any suggestions or guys in the rdu area who would mind taking a look at it. I have no prob exchanging wrench time or plenty of beer for a look at it. Sorry if this is terrible but I have no clue about a/c systems seeing as how this is the 2nd car Ive ever owned with a/c and the first one I bought with the a/c broken lol. Thanks in advance for any help

Sent you a PM, but it could be either moisture in the line, aka needs to be vacuumed then filled, could be the clutch on the compressor isn't getting it done enough to make the high pressure side.
Or it could be something as simple as the blend door isn't shutting off properly and your air is "blending" with going past the heater core.

At the least, buy the charge kit with the pressure gauge... you may need more 134a..

That's a temp. fix though.

The guys at Monro did a good job on my wife's car..

Or do like I did, get bitter at the shops not fixing it.
Borrow a vacuum pump once, (thanks again Kevin aka blkvoodoo) realize you're going to need it a few more times, buy your own and a good set of gauges.
Then make your way through replacing all the parts that had gone bad since the evaporator was leaking for so long. :D
(And I think the compressor isn't 100% still, but it blows at about 52-55 on afternoons like today. sooo good enough to keep the fat guy from sweating :D )

But if you want to check it, i've got a full set of gauges and stuff.

I may have to take you up on that offer too... my AC in my car leaks like crazy... or something

X2 on the guage thing, but odds are that since it is a Chrysler product the evaporator is leaking.

Hush,
Not all of us are big pimpin enough to have it all easy to reach in the bed of the truck :D

(I figured the same thing, just figure checking it before giving the bad news is polite? :D )

guages and a vacuum pump are nice but a scale is critical, without a scale you just can't quite ever get it right, in my opinion anyway. with a scale the pressures really help the diagnoses prosess, i can fix it for you, Pm me or better call me.
