So fan motor was replaced last year so was motor inside that powers the fans to circulate it througout the house, im not a hvac person by any means but all is easily learned wondering if anyone on here could poiint me in right direction... Its my mothers house and two kids involved or id just throw window a/c in lol. Ok since weve spent like almost 1000 on the motors and labor for this unit should we keep it and try to find used coils, have a guy here looking at it now and said a wire broke on fan motor outside which was same motor he put in last year, dont wanna see ma throw money away so would it be best to invest in new A/C unit or gut this one and replace the parts?? any help is grateful!

ha Thats alot of shit for one question lol...

Yeah believe it is... the problem was a wire from the fan motor had broken during winter and ice bent the fan blades! up and running for now lol thanks

First question...how old are the units? If it was just a broken wire and bent blades I'd fix it and roll.

BTW...you can still find r-22 capable equipment but it will ship with a nitrogen charge.

R-22 is supposed to be completely phased out for civilian use by 2020 if it you can find parts at a decent price and roll with it for a few more years do it but if it's a struggle I would just buy a new unit that's not r-22 that way you don't need to replace it down the road. I'm an a/c and r tech in the navy so I deal with this stuff a good amount.
