So My step dad is one of those people who has everything he needs when it comes to looking for a Christmas or birthday present. So this year I made him something to go in the wet bar of his new house in the mountains.
Very simple, and cost about $10 in materials. I splurged, you can do it even cheaper if needed. :dance2:
Went to Home depot and bought 4 pre lathed furniture legs that were about 5" long. Then went to the hobby store and bought two lengths of 4/40 30" long rod that are used for RC planes and such. It has a diameter of .094" I found 1/8" rod was too stiff. Last was something I got from work because I couldn't find it at HD and that was a 3/4" Stainless Ball bearing.
that's it for materials
1. I took two of the furniture legs and drilled a 5/64 hole straight in the end of the down the length of the handle, about an inch deep.
2. The took the threaded end of the 4/40 rod and screwed it n the hole. (x2)
3. Then I took the remaining 2 handles and a paddle drill bit that was 7/8" wide and drilled a hole in the fat end of the leg. Drilled it deep enough to hold the ball bearing.
4. Then I cut off the fat end at about 1-1/4" long.
5. Next I drilled a 5/64" hole in the side and glued and crammed the other end of the rods in the small hole.
6. Let it dry and sand everything down.
Now you have an old school Bar game. put the Ball bearing in one cup, and hold by the handles and try to dump it in the other cup. Drink a few beers and try it again. doing it sober is far easier than after a few beverages.
