This tire has leaked air for a while, but I never noticed this until today. I just had them off last week to clean and rotate them, and didn't notice it then.

It's on the inside of the front drivers side tire.

Now back to trying to get my weedeater to run...

Don't ignore it - failure is iminent.

I had a tire on my Mazda that did that - very odd, a Perelli that already had 25k on it... not realy so bad, buldged just inside the rim on teh sidewall.
I was like, Meh, mental note, moved on. A week later, Pow, tore open right in that spot... while going down I 85 S south of Richmond middle of NOWHERE at 12:15 am. Thanks God for spares.

How old is the tire? I would contact the manufacturer if they are not too old. You may get a decent discount on a new on. Sometime they like to have defects back to test and analyze.

The tire is on it's side, in the bed.

I bought them in November last year, have about 20K on them or so. My road hazard warranty covers it, pro-rated based on tread depth.

I don't recall hitting anything that would have damaged the tire, but I know hitting pothole or something in the road can cause tires to do this.

sorry no defect there seen it a bunch of times. No goodyear center will take care of that. It is a bruise (pnch) from hitting something on the road. Not to be mean or unsympathetic but there is no way that can happen w/o impact. I worked for Goodyear for 3 years and never adjusted one for that. Goodluck with it.

even though you bought them in November doesn't mean they are new. There is a tire ID number on each tire. Look at the last 4 digits. The first 2 are the week of the year and the last two digits are the year it was manufactured.

Example: DOT U2LL LMLR2403 Week 24 of year 2003. Tires have a shelf life. How long? I have no idea but I wouldn't trust tires older than 5 years, especially sold as "new"

I've got it covered, Samsclub road-hazard warranty. New tire is on the way. Thanks.

I had a problem with a set falkins before and contacted there tech department directly. They took care of the problem and made it right.

What department do you work at with goodyear?

I went and looked, and mine have no numbers.

There are 4 ovals, the first 3 have "DOT" "PJB5" "LYHR" and the 4th, where the date code would be, is blank.

It's on the inside. Odds are the tire jockey didn't pay attention when he was mounting them. Unless they are directional tires. If you look at the rim right next to the bulge, you'll see rubber on the lip of the wheel. Someone hit something with it. Look at the inside of the rim and be sure you didn't bend it. I see this daily.

2 were on the inside, 2 on the outside. They are directional, and mounted correctly, that's one thing I did make sure of before I left when I bought them. I looked at 3 tires originally, the inside of the tire with the lump, and the outside of 2 others, (pass side) wouldn't you know that was the wrong side on all 3 of the tires.

There is no rubber/scratches/dents on the wheel at or near the buldge, but I'm not saying I didn't hit anything. There is some corrosion from brake dust sitting on them, that's probably what you see in the pic. I'm hell on a vehicle, I just didn't hit something that sticks in my mind.

Anyhow, "1808" all 4 tires. I bought them somewhere around "4708" FWIW. It was right around thanksgiving.

I had a few tires do that on my old del sol. Kuhmos and goodyears....We have some rough ass roads around here. I have no desire to own anything with low profile tires now.

I would never buy another set of Goodyears. I've owned 3-4 sets through the years and every one of them turned square on me. Couldn't get them to balance for shit, no matter how well I took care of them.

I only run BFGs now on all my vehicles (unless I can get some cheapies on Craigslist or ebay!)
