This is the first time anyone has really tried to run me off the road.

This guy was behind me at the intersection and the light turn green and he started honking. after we made our left turn he pulls around me and when he was 1/2 way ahead of swerves into my lane. there were no cars in front of us and no reason for him to do this other that being a complete A**hat

you did the right thing by not chasing after or escalating the situation.

There is no way to tell what state of mind this asshole was in.
 
Report it to the authorities. If others have reported it they will get a talking to from the authorities.


I used to let drivers get to me, and I can let most things go its just not worth it. I have a friend that had a shotgun put in his face cause of a situation like you described. Now there was this one guy that pulled out in front of me in Andrews NC that I flipped off as hard as i could. He deserved it.

I did report it to Durham PD as well as post the tag info on some of the bad driver sites. I kinda wish he had hit me I could use a new car (or the money for one)
 
NC used to have a litter program where you could send in a plate number of a litterbug, and they'd get a letter in the mail. They ought to offer that for bad drivers.

5 or 10 citizen reports and you have to go to dmv for a retest.
 
thought maybe it was my wife, nope wrong color grey car. She wouldn't have been trying to cut you off, just driving like normal :driver:
 
My Ex (she was not a brilliant person) got into a road rage incident and she pulled in front of someone and slammed on the brakes. Got nailed. Messed up her Mothers car and her own back. Required 2 operations to repair. (cost me a butt load of dough, way more than the divorce cost).
 
Got in a fender bender a week or so ago with someone that wanted my lane. Coming off 277, the off ramp turns in to 3 lanes with a quick intersection. I was coming off the ramp, established in my lane, actively braking...because it was a red light and all at the intersection. Chick in the middle lane decides she needs to take a left turn worse than I do or something, starts passing me, cuts in to my lane, but doesn't quite make it...her drivers rear quarter clips my passenger front fender. Crappy thing is she's saying I hit her, I'm saying I was established in my lane and didn't deviate, she hit me. Cop added another issue to it, front of my car, hit the rear of hers, even though actively braking. No tickets were issued, but insurance says it'll be a he said/she said kind of deal and it'll be no fault. So I'm left holding the bag for a $1000 repair bill...not sure I wanna escalate over $1000. Not really sure what else I could have done or should have done, but the a$$hats are winning apparently.
 
I think my buddy has worst Road rage ,He has spin someone out going 85 shot them though the woods. seen him once slam on brakes when a car was to close when it hit him he slammed it into reverse and back ed up on there hood and drove away.
I have shut down i85 and punch through a window on a car that was trying to run me off road . all because I was doing 75 in the fast lane and he wanted to go faster, But those days of being mad are gone , Now I just sit back and laugh and live longer

Was the right lane open? Because if so you should have moved. The fast lane isn't for cruising, its for passing. Idc if your doing 20-30 over people who sit in the fast lane are asshats.
 
If someone is sitting in the left lane, I just pass them on the right. I see a lot of people get frustrated about a left lane sitter, when they could easily just go around on the right. When I was younger, I even used the shoulder a couple of times to get around traffic plugs.
 
Lol it is funning just reading all of these reports. I used to drive like that (im my younger years)
I'm the guy that goes slow, drive the speed limits, all the 'bad' stuff.
I always leave room for the 'accidental' i want my spot to be if front of yours 'person'.
Sometimes they will get to a spot before me, they can have my 5 mins, ill give it to them.
But probably, well get to the same spot at the same time.
And a difference is......
I saved gas/diesel
Not a lot but noticeable, but it adds up at the end of the month......
Where did that $20 go.... its in my pocket.

That's my rule of thumb...don't impede traffic. If I'm in the left lane doing 75 and people are coming up on me, I'll move over if I can. If someone is in the left lane and I'm coming up on them, I'll move to the right lane. Now if they're in the left lane and I'm coming up on them and I can't move over, then it should be legal to put them in to the wall.

One of the girls I go to the beach with (She always drives) insists on driving in the left lane, ALWAYS. It is painful to me, and she yells at me when I bitch at her for it.
If I can pass on the right, no problem... but if your doing 5 over in the left lane, and I can't get around, you should get the hell out of the way. Basically lol.
My logic is not to "impede" traffic, if I wanna go fast, let me go fast, if you wanna go slow, go slow... in the RIGHT lane...

If I was a cop, the judge would get tired of me writing tickets to people like her.

Next time remind her that she is breaking at least 2 laws:
Keep right except to pass
Slower traffic keep right
 
Yeah... You ever tried to explain to a women her way is wrong? It goes really well. They are very reasonable people.
 
No one wins in these situations. Sure you could have hit him but more than likely your insurance company would find a way of recouperating that money over the next few years even if it wasn't your fault. When it comes to insurance, lawyers, or politics...we all lose!

Shame that people do stupid stuff like that and you don't know what they were going through. Could be hopped up on something, maybe his wife just left him. Try to deflect and let them carry on their way. Of course I say that along with knowing the 'stand your ground' laws. When someone crosses over the line and threatens your life (punching through your window is far worse than simply cutting you off), they should be fully prepared to meet a tool capable of protecting someone's life :)
