I know there always seems to be interest from several of you around things that I get to do or see when it comes to the LEGOLAND parks I work with. We are currently evaluating many aspects of our Miniland area. For that that don't know, or aren't familiar with "Miniland" it's teh heart of the parks. It's where the whole thing began. a small area in the park that is comprised of several Clusters, or islands, of LEGO model content that represents various cities, Iconic structures or attractions. Typically based on the country, or cities that you are in with highlights of icons from around the globe.

There are animations and interactives placed through out where you can squirt water at your friends and family, or activate a marching band. There are Trains boats and cars that move around.

However, the question has become, what is Miniland of tomorrow? What do guests want to see? Keep in mind that the parks are tailored to the 6-12 year old human variety. (I think this is a huge miss in a larger market TBH). So, what is it you or your kids would ant to see? what would make you say, "we HAVE to go to Miniland and spend a long time in there" Is it representation of reality, or fantasy, or animation, or interactivity? do you want to drive the cards RC/Slot car style, do you want AR and digital experiences? Hell, do you not know what you want? That's one of my arguments back to their survey they have done. The guest doesn't always know what they want, or even what they could have. Or, no damn interest at all.

7 wonders of the world
IP's like Star Wars, Marvel, Minecraft, Exotic car brands...
Digital interactives
Touch and build interactives
Fly through ride?

What would you want to see or do?

I don't know what I would want, but I'll just say the Miniland at Legoland FL looks very dated, worn out, and many aspects of it weren't functioning when we were there last year. We didn't spend much time at all there, basically just passed through on our way to other attractions.

We want to go there and build stuff.

In the 6-12 age range, interactive building draws my kids attention. Even at the small LEGO store in NYC, they spend over an hour building with a pretty small selection of blocks. The hard part is when they have to leave what they built behind. Maybe LEGO could sell the kids creations to them (their parents) at a reasonable price based on weight or some such criteria.

To Matt’s point above, older kids and adults would enjoy it too if some of the cool blocks were available to use - not just the plain square ones.

Yea, being able to build would be great.

Come on everybody. I KNOW this crew loves to build shit. LEGO is all about building.

What would make you say “SHIT! I’D pay to see that!” I want to see that!!!

Godzilla in Beijing
Earthquake in SF
Fire in Chacago with a few thugs thrown in.

RC racing in Manaco.
Seriously IDK. My son went to Chicago when he was about 6 years old and doesn't remember anything 17 years later.

I can't go back to Legoland. With 4 kids I"d have to pay for two rooms and I ain't doing that 🤣.

Last time we were there (COVID mask times) the mini land was closed completely as they were updating it or something. The time we were there before that, the kids didn't care too much about it. If they could actually PLAY with Legos in a giant Lego town, that would be PACKED with kids. They don't care to just look at the stuff for any length of time. I would guess we spent less than 20 minutes of our time at miniland the one time it was open.

It'd be hard to pull off, But a non-interactive building under construction in the display, with the actual construction going on... At least a 15 Minute loop for the completion of something, If the display is intricate and ultimately seems to have completed some part of the job, like beam placement, or completing a wall, many people of all ages would stand through at least one cycle to watch it complete

You are going to have to start paying us if you are just going to steal all of our good ideas and implement them as yours haha

what do you think this is, the Neilsen Ratings survey? Want me to send you $2?

I think my idea is genius. You know, aside from some little shits playing in a Lego city and destroying it 🤣.

I want a free Legoland vacation for 6 if you use my idea!
