I made a list on Google earth of places to wheel within about 3 hours of Haywood County, NC. (Waynesville) and I thought you all would be interested.

My criteria were: Legal, advertised as OHV areas, and allowed 4x4's.

NC:
Durhamtown Tellico, Murphy, NC
The Flats, Marion, NC

*note Brown Mountain is not included because 4x4's are only allowed on 1 easy trail.

SC:
The Gultches, Laurens, SC

GA:
Beasley Knob, Blairsville, GA
Tatum Lead Trail, Chatsworth, GA
Rocky Flats Trail, Chatsworth, GA

TN:
Windrock, Oliver Springs, TN
Royal Blue, Pioneer, TN
Trails End, Pioneer, TN
Outdoors in the Smokies, Cosby, TN
Adventure Off Road Park, South Pittsburg, TN

KY:
Harlan, KY

am i missing any?
I didnt include places like Hurricane Creek since those are just public "roads"

There is also a thread here that has every place with in 5-6 hours. On here. There is another place in nc, and a new place in tn right across the line, both offer wheeling but is geared more towards mud as of now.

There are 2 more in KY.
Can post more when I get to a computer.

Ran across an outfit online called Outdoors in the Smokies in Cosby TN. Have not been there yet. Small place, 65 acres but it's legal, think the fee is $20 a rig. Outdoors in the Smokies - Home
Adventure Off Road South Pittsburg TN. Surely someone in the forum has been there.

Is that the same as Dark Holler? Also, from Haywood County you can get to Harlan & Uwharrie in 3 1/2 hours.

Rush is probably 4 hours from Waynesville
Wildcat Off Road is probably 3 hours.
