A little help...

Now im under 21, and just joined on here yesterday...
I dont really understand the 21 rule, im not flaming it by any means but i dont understand why its in place...
I have been looking around on here ever since i was able to drive and got into the 4x4 deal and didnt actually read that fourm untill i signed up and looked at it today.
Can someone please explain that a little more and how they actually proove that everyone that is on here is 21 and not fibbing a little : (, i was thinking that i could just go and remake another account, but then thought a little more seriously about it and knew that the Admins could just look at the ip adress that the computers were coming from and know that the person was doing that, so i thought smarter of that and didnt want to get banned completely from here.
Could someone please do some more explaining on this?
Again not a Flame on this issue, just curious...
 
Due to the amount of requests, we will be activating COPPA soon. What this means is that under 21 folks will be able to read the board, and post in Chit-Chat only. Until they have a sponser.

only thing you gota do is get a sponser.
 
Well a few thoughts...

1) The reason is stated above. and also this is as "real world" a group as you will find on the net. Everyone on here knows to some degree many of these folks in "real non internet life", as a result its just to cut down on the dram fests and e-muscle flexing that usually accompanies many young adults. Why 21? Well you have to draw a line somewhere and 24 years 4 months 2 weeks 2 days and 5 hours seemed a bit random...

2) I am impressed a bit already by the maturity in which you asked your question and stated your thoughts without a bunch of obsenities of accusations....I think you will fit in well here.

3) There are a number of members and even 1 mod right in your hometown...look one of them up and offer to lend a hand wrenching one evening or such and you should have no trouble finding a sponsor.
 
Thanks for clarifyin that, i mean i was not trying to come off as a little cocky kid, and im not getting on here to start trouble in no means, ha, i will just look around and find me a sponser, i do know a guy that i wheel with, and one that i just wheeled with this past weekend in uwharrie so maybe i will luck out with that...

Head out to The Farm Spring Event (May 1-3). Introduce yourself to a few people and I am sure you'll get a sponsor pretty quickly.

Now like getting a sponsor is kinda like the big brother program right? I just get so confused about this topic of "the sponsor" and it fux with me. Am I supposed to PM people that I know personally from here to be "my sponsor?"

You're catching on. The other point of this is to hopeful get people to interact and teach the "younger" guys the proper way of wheeling the correct way and leaglly. (not saying this is an issue with you or younger people in general)
 
Yea, I havent wheeled my rig since like november because I didnt want to cause any trouble. Now its almost ready for URE. Got some pinion issues that I need to go over. I just try to keep it all legit, and fun for everyone. It takes a lot of good people to make a good impression, but one idiot to ruin it for everyone; I don't want to be the one idiot.
 
Keep a postive attitude like that and you'll find a sponsor pretty quick. I'd help ya out if you were closer to me.
ps what's the issue, pm if need be. Maybe I can help postit up for ya.
 
Ricky was gonna sponsor me, but I am not sure what happened to that...hmm. well for now I will just keep looking at pictures, and PM instead of post, Lol.
 
Back in the day, we had issues with "the younger crowd" with some really stupid posts, threats and so on. The posts and discussions really took away from what we were trying to accomplish here. So, the rule was made. As far as I know only a hand full of underage folks have had big issue with it. Basically it boils down to just like in the real world, there are rules and we all have to abide by them.

I fully agree with what you are saying, and how things were handled, and I respect it.
I just sometimes have tech problems, and questions, and since I cant post here, I always call around or stop by Carolina Truggies with literally a list of questions. But its all good, I get by with the little knowledge I have.

Simple. It's a local board. You WILL meet people from the board on the trails. It'll get back to us. Generally, the people we are trying to weed out tend to set fake ages, act like an ass and get us interested in them. Once we're interested, we can figure things out real fast, and then we ban. Yes, this is a big brother kind of situation. PM someone you know that's a member, ask if you can be sponsored. It IS simple. Show up at a trail ride and meet some folks. People are more likely to sponsor someone they've met before.

Have you guys PM'ed anyone in your area? Where did you look to learn about sponsorship? What could we do better to inform you about this?
