Google doesn't come up with any good answers for this one... does clear coating offer any UV protection for regular (Lowes / Home Depot) oil-based enamel? I know somebody knows (firsthand) the answer to this.

yes although i dont know specifics once painted waxed etc... there is protection against fading, oxidation et... see your build thread
