Ugh! Someone decided to drop off 2 dogs on our property Thursday sometime before 5pm. I guess that's better than taking them to a shelter. After talking to 3 different county shelters, I've learned that most of the animals taken in are put down due to overcrowding. We've looked into rescue groups, but apparently black labs are pretty common.

We've named them Abbott (blue collar) and Costello (red collar).

I've had my share of abandoned dogs over the years, and many were black lab mixes such as those. They make a pretty good pet if you can keep the need to chew in check with toys and such.

I hate that. I live in the corner of three counties and thats how I have gotten most of the dogs I've owned. I saw a lady pull up into a wooded section of my property and throw something out I thought it was a bag of trash but it was 2 puppies about 6 months old. She must have beat the devil out of them because the both were frozen and wouldn't move. Those dogs have always been afraid of new people. Good luck finding those dogs a home.

The hardest part is that we're not in the market for 2 more dogs. Hopefully there's a good home for them. If not, we will be keeping them.

Cute pups...sucks that they were not asked for.
Definitely looks like some lab woner what else is mixed in there?
Almost has a border collie look

Any idea on age? or health? My parent's are moving to a new house with a good size lot and are going to be looking for a dog or two that are rescues.

They're around 6 months old, and appear to be in good health. Both are active and quite playful, and like to explore. They're still teething a little on their molars, so durable chew toys are a must. We don't know how well the boys will travel. We haven''t had a chance to get them to a vet - we don't have any paperwork for the dogs, and they are not microchipped. Because we don't know if they have any shots, we haven't brought them inside with our other dog. We don't even know if they are housebroken or crate trained. I think they might be crate trained, in which case housebreaking would be just a learning curve. They should get to about 75Lbs and stand close to 2ft at the shoulder.

We're a little west of Pilot Mountain. I'll pm you the address.
