I want to use one for apparently the wrong thing because I cant seem to find any software to support my endeavor.

What I want to do is place a webcam at my workbench and have a live feed going to two monitors to help attract people walking by my leather shop. I have tried several programs and so far only one(yawcam) almost works but not really. Everything I have tried seems to only be used in "preview" mode and will not let me control image quality, fps, on screen text or overlays, etc unless I am streaming or recording, neither of which I want to do.

Anybody have any ideas...

Yeh, I figured I'd get a few of these responses ^^^

Anyway, that's the problem I don't want to record at all. I need it to be live.

Cheap camcorder with VGA output???? No recording just for a display???

You need a security cam, not a webcam. But I'm sure theres a way to do it with a webcam.

Yep, just for display, no recording. I was looking at webcams because I have lots of old PC's and monitors I can use and the webcam would be cheap but it's looking to be harder than I thought to set it up like I want .

The reasonably priced (cheap) security cams I've looked at have been crap for picture quality not to mention being huge by comparison to a webcam and required a TV.

Found a security webcam software I'm going to try tomorrow...
