Anyone know of anyone that can install an above ground pool for a friend? its an 18' round pool. He is getting the run around from the place he bought it from and was trying to help him out.

I would consider doing it yourself if you got good help and common sense. I helped install a 24' round above ground pool over 12+ years ago for a co-worker and they still use it today. Used 5 other helpers who all of us combined knew absolutely nothing about pools besides the fact they are supposed to hold water and it turned out to be a piece of cake. Took us maybe half a day (after the ground was prepped). A call to the fire department to fill it up and we were swimming that evening. Trick is clearing / grubbing / and stripping topsoil down to a compactable subgrade and compact with something heavy. Ironically a neighbor used his race car with wide slicks on the back to ride back and forth. We read to use gravel underneath but we didn't. We leveled out the base with sand (no more than say 3"-4") by sifting a 4' level on a good solid 10' 4x4. Then worked one piece at a time by not snugging a single screw. We checked cross distances before final tightening all the screws and then stretching the liner.

Hope that helps for it saved him like $2,500 quoted from Rising Sun Pools in Raleigh. His brother did all the plumbing / that I know nothing about. All of us helpers have lifetime memberships though. :) And I recall coworker threw a hell of a party to pay us back.
