What are yall using to protect hydro steering, gas, and battery cables from abrasion?

I have to route all mine up the firewall and there are several places that im worried about abrasion causing a failure.

I usually use short slit sections of heater hose wrapped with a layer of electrical tape where needed. It looks goofy but works if you can get the hose to fit inside the hole in the firewall.

I'm cheap, and have used pieces of heater hose and garden hose split lengthwise, then zip tied around lines at locations that need protection.

I am using nylon hydraulic hose abrasion sleeve from the hydraulics supply store.

Here is an example: http://www.discounthydraulichose.com/product_p/nps.htm

We use a sock like this at work too. we also have a high risk abrasion type wrap that is installed with zip ties. there is a mega tough hose that is used too, I have seen that shit wear the metal in a vibrating area & barely a mark on the hose.
