I'm sure someone has already done this, or at least tried it... the idea of placing a window ac unit outside and circulating the air through windows into a space. Does it have possibilities?

without insulated ducting your thermal efficiency would be pretty poor. that said packing all that around and keeping it useable and out of the way would be more hassle than its worth.

Why not just mount the window unit in the wall ( front, up high if possible) you're not hauling in and out with all its crap. Our first popup had a window unit in the side being the axle, hanging out all the time (made for interesting towing at times) later removed, made a sliding tray the window unit mounted too, and a door that opened to slide in and out as needed.

the most transparent option, RV roof AC, expensive, but aways out of the way.

Have you entertained a portable AC unit. They are made to sit inside and the condenser heat ducts to the outside.

Window units don't really have enough fan power to compensate for duct friction losses.

I would not even consider the idea of cutting a hole and having the thing hanging out of it. That's a definite NO! NO! Sorry Kevin. :)

Yes I have... but have read so may pros & cons that I need to do more research.

I was just tinkering with the window unit idea as they're plentiful, and cheap as dirt. Presently, I am hoping not to need AC at all. As long as it's cool enough at night to sleep comfortably we will be fine, and for the most part when it gets too hot for comfort we don't go camping anyway.

LOL, i pretty much expected that response.

the portable AC was one i
hadn't thought of, a lot of folks use them in popups as well.

The ones I've seen, are fairly large, as to a camping trailer space, & cool a much larger area. You may can get a Small one, I've only seen 1 size.
Edit: I looked on Amazon, there Are options, but it's a guess as to their efficiency vs. price.
