Acorns

The trees around my house are dropping a tremendous amount of acorns. Anyone else having the same thing happen at their house?

I have not paid any attention b/c the big oak are on the backside of my property but that would explain the lack of deer coming in to my corn feeders.

My Red Oaks started dropping them in August...............hunt the White Oaks right NOW.........that is all

Acorns pretty much suck. Hickory nuts on the other hand make for a great flavor adder when you do any outdoor charcoal grilling. Old Indian trick.

I was hanging out in the hammock Saturday on Daniel and the acorns were dropping so hard and so often I could not take a nap. Got rocked in the head twice and had to call it a day. I've never experienced so many like that.

They look like dem Quercus Michauxii (Swamp Chestnut Oak) akerns, probly the fav-o-rite of dem Deer.

Yeah, we were getting pelted with them all weekend on the trails too.

Yes, especially good for shooting Squirrels. You can also grind them up and mix w bisquick to make pancakes..................w lot's of syrup.

I have a recipe to make coffee out of them. I have never tried it but it does not sound terrible....well yeah it kinda does.
