advance adapter np 231-350 turbo

how do I get this thing to stop leaking tranny fluid???????
I have pulled it twice. this last time I called advance for advice. I followed their instructions. I replaced the bearing w/ the 1 they told me and a new gasket, still leaks.

I am either going to pour gas on it and light it or change the whole drivetrain and go w/ a 205 transfer case. I have the lighter in my hand now
 
the 231 is sealed, I can't remeber what is on that end of the turbo 350. I do know the fluid is coming from the transmission. It looks to be seaping at the bottom of the adapter.
 
Where is it leaking from...

is the output area on the TH350 supposed to be "wet"?
 
I have been thru this numerous times. First, make sure the studs you are using have silicone on them, and if there is one hole without a stud, clean it well with break clean, and fill it with silicone. Lay a nice bead around the o ring before it is bolted to the trans, and on the face of it before it is bolted to the t case. When the fluid seeps thru the sealed bearing in the adaptor housing it will lay in the cavity between the adaptor, and tcase, but wont hurt anything as long as you have sealed it well. I have found the leak is usally coming from one of the stud holes in the tcase that wasnt used though.
 
the drip looks to come from between the adapter and t case. it is dry between the trans - adapter. I cleaned everything good w/ brake clean. instead of silicone this time I used yamabond. I use it when putting 2 stroke engines together. I do have a extra set of holes clocking the t case. I will try to clean and silicone these before droping this thing for the 3rd time.

advance says the bearing is supposed to keep the fluid out of that side of the adapter, but it looks like to me if the bearing didn't get some fluid it would burn up.
 
any more ideas? I am going to pull this case 1 last time. leaks again a 205 is going in its place then an axle swap.
 
u r correct no seal. when I spoke w/ advance they think the sealed bearing will keep the fluid in. I don't see how. I put 2 different bearings on the bench and oil seeped thru.
 
yeah the sealed bearing wont do much as a seal, unlike what AA thinks... id just make sure that the to surfaces are clean and throw some RTV on both sides of the adapter. that should seal it up from leaking, but the adapter will probly still get fluid in it
 
Im now going to try to fix this for the last time. anyone know if the 350 turbo should allow fluid into the adapter or should it seal and not let any fluid into the adapter?
