I am rebuilding a winch and i was looking for the grease types recommended and came across aeroshell 33MS. This is supposed to be great for high pressure applications and have great resistance to water and corrosion. its 100 bucks for a 6 lb tub of it. Before I spend the money I wanted to see if anyone had used it and what is your experience? Is it worth the price tag? I would be using it for anything molly is used for.

I work on aircraft, I'll see if we have that, it doesn't ring a bell though. Usually Aeroshell 7, Mobil, Black Bear, C5 and Lubriplate is what we use. I like that "red tacky" you get at advance for my jeep stuff, it's real clingy.

Aeroshell 33 is actually what Warn calls for. I don't think you'll need 6lb of it, though.

Make sure you clean all the old stuff out before adding the new grease.

I was just going to buy it for bearing etc if its that good. I also found this stuff made by CAT called Desert Gold. It looks even better on paper. Ever heard of it?

They say its used in landing gear and replaced by Aeroshell 17.

Forgot about this thread. I got 1 tube of 17, I'm right off hwy 73 on that lake approaching I85/Concord. If you still need it let me know.

I picked up the Cat dessert gold. On paper it looks just as good if not better so I'm giving it a shot. Whats the worst that could happen?!?! :)
