AI - we are doomed

Keep in mind that the real learning here is happening by you, not so much Grok. I mean it is learning, but this is what we in the research world call mutual adaptation. You're both adapting to one another, and you're way more intelligent and adaptable
You are learning how to prompt the AI so that you get good results. You are essentially learning a language, a specific way of thinking and talking that maximizes communication. Each iteration you get better at it and net better results.

"AI Prompt Engineering" is a whole field now, where people just learn the best way to talk to them
There is definitely some of that, but there is an adaptation it makes as well. For example, the aforementioned counting error. What was causing the issue is there will be 2 different symbols for a light. one half shaded to indicate it is an emergency fixture. It wasnt counting the half shaded symbols, once you "tell it" that the symbol is counted whether it is shaded or not and to reference the fixture schedule - you don't have to tell it that on the next job. It remembers it, it doesnt have to be prompted again.

y'all keep it up so me and @JSJJ388 will have job security

Thats right. No such thing as bad publicity.

On a serious note, data centers will be built no matter what. Our society is so data driven that they are an absolute necessity. Folks can squabble ans complain them but the only way to stop then is to not use anything with online data. And good luck with that lol.

Im not a fan of AI, especially sense natural intelligence seems to be on decline. But its not some big evil either. Like anything, its a tool that is as good or bad as the person using it.

BTW - we have all seen this movie before ...

I personally think the most damaging thing about ai is the power and land usage it will require, copper electricity and land are already expensive enough, not to mention water for cooling, and it’s not a one time infrastructure thing, the beast keeps growing.

The usage cases making more efficient use of work time will be beneficial to some degree.

No one would trade CAD software in one engineer’s hand for 100 draftsmen with pencils and rulers. But advances in tech always lead to low level job loss, AI will have that effect on median to high income earners

Bruh, I became a Tetris master on the TI-89. And before that, people were playing snake on the TI-83. We knew this 30 years ago.

What drives me nuts is that I’ve been to two companies that are encouraging the use of AI out one side of their mouth and then making everyone go through Cyber security training that says don’t trust AI, do your research behind your AI findings. And the amount of scam artist using AI to infiltrate businesses… etc.

Makes me want to go back to paper.
