Trying to get the front end of my buggy done and I’m down to getting air bumps. How do you decide what length bumps to get I’ve seen 4”,3”,2” bumps and not sure how to pick which I need.

The bump stroke has to do with uptravel length, so the longer the suspension uptravel, the longer bump you want. That's the general concept, but I admit to knowing nothing about the finer points of selection for offroad stuff. Just like all suspension components that deal with wheel travel, mounting location (via motion ratio) has an affect on that as well.

There's also the bump diameter and the pressure that affect things as well, but that's more about force versus travel, etc.

Unless you want to be endlessly annoyed by feeling/hearing the axle hit them on a constant basis, go with the two inch. This is assuming you set it up like pretty much any non desert truck with <8" up travel.

I’d go with 4” and internally limit them to 2” uptravel. This is just a spacer to limit their droop.

That way you never have to buy again if you change you suspension setup.

How much uptravel are you going to have?

Don’t really know we’re going to try and get the front axle in today and find all that out

Gotcha. Either way I would shorten them to 2” or just order 2” ones unless you are going to run 8+ inches of uptravel.

I’d start with 50 psi in the bumps. The valving and spring rate should only use the bumps when articulating or big hits.
