Howdy guys!!...yeah life gets in the way, so I haven't been active, but hopefully spring will change that (bills to pay and taking care of adult stuff sucks lol)

But got a question about airing down, and Im not sure that this falls in "tech"...but do you use a special tool/gage for air down? or do you just use like your finger nail, and a regular tire gage?

Back when I used to wheel and DD the same vehicle, I would pull the valve cores and just use a regular gauge. Way faster than just pushing in the valve. If I only needed to drop a few PSI the just do the valve.

You can also use a tire chuck to deflate the tires.. they sell clip on chucks and you could time how long it takes to go from your set pressure to target deflated pressure and get 2 or 4 to reduce time deflating.. or the screw on regulated deflators.

^^ yup, I use one of those little 4-way tire tools to depress the valve if its dropping like 10 PSI, if doing 20+ I'd pull the stem, then pop it back in 5 secs later.

Now, if they just made a little screw on valve stem cover that could put the are back IN for you...

They do, four lines teed together with four clip on chucks and set up like

|--------|----------[regulator]----(compressor)
I think you missed the word "little".
I'd like to see you drive around like that :D

I have a cheapo $0.99 valve stem removal tool that I made a handle for out of a dowel rod and epoxied it together. Pulling the valve stem seems to be the fastest and cheapest way to do it.

I use the screw on ones R Q linked. I screw one on, wait 30 sec, screw on the next, etc. Usually when number 1 is ready, I can make my way around at a leisurely pace and unscrew each deflator and fine tune the pressure as needed. Doing it one at a time sucks, and it really sucks if you pull a valve core and drop it in the dirt/grass.
