I picked up a compressor that shuts off at about 125psi right now. I also picked up a

tire inflator tool like this. Guage goes to 100psi. Is there an issue with having 125psi behind this thing when it only goes up to 100psi on the guage?

nope, the gauge is only gonna read tire pressure when the trigger is not pulled.

The gauge may peg when you pull the trigger and inflate, but it won't hurt the gauge, though I would question accuracy after a few hundered uses.

I wouldn't sweat it.

Ok, just didn't know if it was rated only to a certain amount of psi, before the damn thing ESPLODED

Actually the way this one seems to work is when you pull the trigger, it tells you the pressure behind the gun and fills the tire. you let go and it tells you the pressure in the tire. I thought it was kinda bassakwards personally. took me a minute to figure it out to be honest.

thanks

It shouldn't hurt it. Besides, your regulator should only be set to about 90 psi. If you look on the side of this and most other tools, they will be labled "90 psi max". Set your regulator and the gauge will be fine.

Most tools say that--but most tools work much better at ~120 too...

:edit: and I use that same inflator with my fixed reg co2 tank that's set at 150psi, so I don't think 120 is going to cause problems.
