Airbags

I need to straighten out the bumper on my truck. I think I found the impact switches behind the bumper to make the airbags go off. I was wondering about unplugging them before I start working on the bumper, just to make sure I don't set them off. Do I need to? Could I just unhook the battery?

yup...usually the enertia switch is towads the center of the vehicle (it is in european cars, not sure about others). Unhook the battery and you'll be fine. It may turn the airbag light on when you hook it all back up and you'll have to get a shop to reset it.
