What are you non-beadlock guys running for tire pressure? My 33x12.50 Duratracs hardly have any squat at 15psi and I am looking to go lower. Am I asking for problems if I go down to 10? The tires are mounted on 15x10 rims.

I run 8 with 33 x13.50 ltbs on a 10" rim on my sammi and have never lost a bead and I beat it hard

On my old rig I had 35x12.5 on 15x8 wheels and I ran 10psi with no problem. I have 33x12.5 on 15x7.5 wheels now (called poor man's bead locks) and the previous owner said he had them down to 7-8psi, I plan on go straight to 10 and seeing how I like it

I run a 36x13 on a 16x8. When I get to 4-5 psi it will push the bead off. Only problem I have is when I'm running 7-8 I get mud and rocks pushed in the bead and before I know it I've dropped enough air and the bead comes off.

Ok I will definitely get a narrower rim. I have been eyeing a set of gray soft 8s for a while. They come in 15x7 and 15x8. Would 7" be too narrow for my 33s? FWIW I am moving up to 35s when the current ones wear out.

7" is a little too narrow for street use with a 33 or 35x12.5, but is great aired down of road. I ran some 33x12.5 BFG ATs on stock 7" wheels and the center tread wore very quickly, even though I tried keeping highway pressures "low", like 25 psi or so.

The problem is your 10" wide wheels. Switch to some 15x8s and you can safely air down lower

I run 5 psi in the 34" LTB's under my Samurai. My rims are 15x8 with reversed centers, so they are harder to blow a bead on. I've never blown one.

Good time to update this I guess. I went out the first time and wheeled with 10psi, it did fine but felt stiff. Last run I went down to 8psi and it felt much better and I never lost a bead.

Are the 33x12.5 on 7 in rims on the highway dangerous or just shitty wear? Wanting to go this route too for the poor mans bead lock approach but also need to do some on road driving.

Probably more of a wear issue. I'm running 33x10.50R15 on a 6 wide wheel and haven't had any problems at all. Only have about 7000 miles them so far and the wear is good and even. Just have to find the psi that works. Really depends on the tire as well. Just because it's a 33x12.5 doesn't mean it 12.5" wide.

If you are running a 12.50 on a 8 inch or less wheel you will need to be carefull of your highway pressure, too much and your tires will crown and wear the middles out fast.
