Airshock school?

I'd like some schoolin on air shock's. Who's work or don't. Rebuild/Valving. Best places to shop. And why does everyone runnin them seem to run a winch up front to pull it down? Seems running them on a climb everyone claims they unload or stand up? Am i misinturpreting things on that part, seems proper dampning and valving would control that affect. I do understand the concept of weight bais or trying to keep things low on a steep approach but like I said, I needs to go to school on the subject.
