anyone used or know anything about alcan leaf springs w/ orbital eye bushings ? looks like a good idea but wondering how the bushings hold up. ok for street use or just trail use only. my rubicon express are shot & sagging after 3 yrs of hard use, put a add a leaf under main on frt as temp fix. any recomends on spring under 4.5-5" leafs on a cj7 . dont want to go soa ,to many other issues come up to deal with other than just buying 4 springs and slapping on.thanks for any input

I HAVE SOME ORBIT EYES ON MY TOYOTA THEY ARE A VERY SOFT AND FLEXY SPRING THEY STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT CAUSE I BENT ONE SENT IT BACK AND THEY FIXED IT. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR FLEX, THIS IS THE SPRING..THEY CAN MAKE ANY LENGTH AND PUT THE CENTER PIN WHERE EVER YOU WANT.

I have 8 pack Alcans on the rear of my SOA jeep, YJ pack+4" center pin offset a bit.. Can't speak about the orbit eyes, but mine flex pretty well as is..

Check out Alcans web site and download their spring order sheet, be honest about what your needs/requirements are and take their advice seriously.. They do build the packs differently depending on your use and configuration..

I have had two sets of Alcans and they are of great quality. Charles and the rest of the gang there will work with you very well. I would recommend weighing your rig front and rear fully loaded before ordering anything. Measure the pre-lift distances from axle to frame and some other points on the rig and tell them that and what you are expecting.
I had some issues with a set I bought last winter and they have worked with me very well to get them resolved.
There is no aftermarket for Jeepsters so most stuff other than drivetrain has to be custom.
I've not used the orbit eye bushings though.

Called them today to ask about the orbit eye, at $600 added to a pair of springs, I'm not convinced it's worth it. They want $79 per orbit eye, $49 per spring hanger, $89 per shackle. The orbit eye's are wider, so you'll have to replace the hanger and shackles also.

i tend to agree w/ you about the orbit eye option adds too much cost to each spring , also they are very wide like 4.5 " w/ the shackle plate sides figured in. just more metal to catch or drag on rocks. think i'll just go w/ the springs & change a couple trashed bushings twice a year. thanks to all for the input
