... I got to play with this set over the weekend...

Putting HX40 / HT3B twins on my truck. I have been collecting parts for a while and finally got a free weekend to work on it. Still need a couple things to finish them up.

Started with a clean work area...

Getting all the cold piping in place was like a puzzle. It took some time to figure out what pipe needs to go where and the order they need to go on. Needless to say I didnt get it right the first go round. Oil changes will take a little longer now, I will have to take at least 2 tubes off to get to the oil filter.

About 90% done. I need a little more 5" tube for the down pipe and I have a small oil leak on the bottom turbos feed line.

Lookin good. Leaving the battery there sure makes things tougher. Have fun fitting the 5" downpipe too.. :flipoff2:

Its a tight fit, but its in there. The downpipe fits too, barely.

fuel/tuner ? where you gonna limit boost? studs/orings?

I have Mach 4s and a Quadzilla Adrenaline on the truck along with studs and orings. Not sure where/if I am going to limit the boost. The set up came with a couple blow off valves. I am going to leave them in there for now, not sure if they will stay.
 
Thats kinda what I was thinking. I just want to get it back together and drive it some then I will go from there.
 
I have been driving the truck the last couple of days and so far so good. The spool up is nice compared to what I had before. I have not beat on them much, only up to 45 psi and it got there quick.
 
Sweet! I would have liked to have heard it when I was there! What kinda of EGTs do you see?


I put your old turbo on my truck today. I need to finish welding the flange on the downpipe before I can test drive it though....probably going to go with some 5x.016 injectors :driver:



You gotta take some videos!

I've read on CompD that those valves dont perform very well. never the less nice installation!
 
As long as you have a good bov you should be fine. The cheaper ones tend to allow boost spikes and with stock head bolts and gasket that's a no no. 45 psi seems about right with your setup maybe see 50 psi. What kind of egt's you seeing? Should be pretty good with the fuel you have. Throw some farmboy 240's in there and get some fuel to it.
 
So far I have got the egts up to about 1290 and about 45 psi. I have not had a good opportunity to beat on the truck. Have not had it at WOT in 5th yet. We will see how the blow off valves work, if I dont like them I will plug them up. So far they havent been a factor.
 
Sounds good. I wasn't thinking about it when I said it but 240's would probably be a little much since that setup is only rated around 500hp. They get a little warm on my 64. Sweet looking setup though. Keep us updated on how it works. I may go with that setup with the next Cummins I get.
 
I was thinking about going ahead and going twins also but with the awesome deal Im getting on a super B special(plus my truck still in the shop w/ starting problems after brand new injectors and stage 3 cp3 lol) I figure i will just use this single for awhile till I wanna go twins on mine.Good looking setup though!
