All show and no go. This was a SEMA truck.

wow---really a shame, but for some reason I still find it amusing.

looks like that just tacked the passenger side and forgot to go back and fully weld it.

lots of money in that truck, and more to fix it.

I would have not let a copy of the video survive.

At least the fender brakes work well...

I will reference this thread next time a single shear vs. double shear comes up...
 Sad such an expensive truck was wasted over something so simple to avoid.

this is a great time to re-mention bumpstops as well
The shock mounts were not even strong enough to withstand the force to take it to full bump, they failed before the suspension hardly compressed.

Looks like it has only one bolt holding the two shocks on at the bottom, too bad you cant see the bolt head to see if its a a grade 8 or better

Exactly as Adam said, one bolt, two shocks, both in single shear.

shameless plug, RIP race jeep
...
stock suspension with spacers

RIP?

Best I remember it was still perfectly functional, you just left it in, uh, a 'precarious position".

Thats the same way the pro comp double cross dual coilover setup is for power strokes. Has a billet steel stud that mounts two shocks exactly the same way in single shear. There was all kinds of talk back when it came out about the same thing happening. I guess now they can see why. Whats even worse is most coil overs use a half inch bolt which even if it was an F911 bolt it can't handle that weight in single shear. Lessons leaned I guess.

Me and my wife show this truck in the 4wheel magazine at Wal-Mart just last night. It was on a small rock making it look like they were rock crawling. And her reply was yea right, the first time they take that truck off road it will break. LOL Guess she was right!!! :bling::shaking:

rotflmao wow thats pitiful my truck has seen more air then that
