Anyone else watching? I've seen both the first two seasons and now starting the third. It amazes me how people tap after like three days, I mean it must take at least a few weeks of prep just to get it all lined up. Just to tap because you miss your family. I've spent weeks in the woods, maybe the beer and the bacon make it easier. Still think I could make the current bench mark of 56 days for $500k.

What's this?

Had to look it up. It actually sounds like it may be interesting.
Contestants dropped off in a remote location (separately) with a couple survival tools. Have to hunt/gather own food, shelter, etc. last one to quit wins.
Premise sounds better than all the douche nozzle backstabbing whining reality shows.

I keep thinking the same thing. But if you look at the profiles of most of the people they are all really city people. I know alot of them say they teach survival classes and all that but na.

It is pretty interesting.I watched last season and its interesting to me how fast some peoples mental stability goes south.I think the guy that won last time could have kept right on goin.He didn't seem to change much from the start.

I heard an interview with the guy that won last time. He definitely had the mental strength to keep going. I'm interested in a new show on CBS called Hunted. Taken from the CBS website, the premise is...

"Hunted follows ordinary people attempting the nearly impossible task of disappearing in today's vast digital world, as professional investigators combine state-of-the-art tracking methods with traditional tactics to narrow down the search area. From searching their target's home and scouring Internet and cell phone histories to identifying behavioral patterns, they look for clues to potential hiding places and collaborators that can ultimately lead to capture."

My youngest son has lived in the woods of CA, OR, and WA for 6-9 months each over the last several years. Given his mental state not something to brag about, but yea - those people are pussies. And I've never seen an episode.

Sounds to me like it has too many opportunities for fabricated drama.

Well of course they are city people.
If they took a rural guy who's already used to taking care of himself, the show would go on forever and wouldn't be very exciting to watch.

Alone is all about mental control. They are given enough supplies to survive a long time. (They are given food rations and have option to take more) they are also put in good location for a steady supply of fish. It's up to them to find a decent place to make camp and then deal with the mental part of it. I can't say I'd win but I could go a week or two. That said I don't like camping alone and knowing there was a puma leaking around my camp like some of the guys I would tap. Just saying

Wife and I love the show. We have seen both seasons and it's become our favorite series. I have wondered why people leave so quickly but with puma, wolves and black/brown bear it would be tempting to leave if I had nothing but a knife.
I hope one day they will make a super alone with all the survivalist stars like Dual Survivals, Cody, Dave, Joe and that hippy that always wants to stay longer. Throw in Les Stroud and Bear Grills. Personally I think Grills would tap first.

Agreed. I'm amazed Grills hasn't died from his own stupidity already.

We used to watch him but quit after seeing his hydration method at sea. He took a tube and ran it up his rear to absorb water from salt water. He could have just explained the method....
He also would suggest silly survival tips like run down the side of sheer cliff to save time.

Hadn't heard of this show until this thread. Now I'm at episode 5 season 1. Like stated above, I don't see why half of them taped out early. There are people that made it longer on naked and afraid with less(no im not saying I like that show either but that's all I could think watching some of it). and they only compete for 50k not 500k. That's crazy

I like it so far I'm watching online to catch up I'm on season one episode 8. I think it's crazy how they tap out after only one or two days in this first season. You can last longer than that with zero water or food.

The only one I really understand is the guy that tapped out first, had 5 bears in the trees around him then that night 3 at his tent. Last I checked I couldn't fight 3 bears with a knife.

Didn't someone tap before dark on day one last season? I could do that.

Otherwise, give me a stockpile of food and a cabin to stay in, and I'm still going stir crazy and tapping after just a few days. I couldn't do it.

The game is all about someone mental capacity. They could do the same thing anywhere give them food and shelter but no communication with anyone and I bet people would still tap after a couple days.

Yep. The ones that are the "most prepared" arrive with big plans about what they want to do. Once those things are accomplished, the mental part becomes a factor and they tap relatively quick.
